THE Royal Jubilee celebrations got off to a mouth watering start for nearly 40 Swindon Scouts at the weekend as they battled it out for the title of top chef.
Teams of four were challenged to cook a three-course meal for four people on a budget of £15 using only two gas burners and a grill. All meals had to be cooked from scratch, with no shop-made items allowed.
The competition was won by 17th Swindon Scouts, of Gorse Hill, who narrowly beat teams from Penhill, Highworth, Stratton, Cricklade and Toothill.
Event organiser Joanne Parker said she was proud of all the entrants.
