A FIRE has caused severe damage to the old British Legion Club in Downton Road, Penhill.
Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the derelict building at 5.10am.
Four fire engines, two from Swindon and two from Stratton, were mobilised to the scene, together with an incident command unit, also from Stratton.
A total of 12 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze, with the stop message coming at 7.23am.
The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
