Collingbourne Villages join forces for family fun day

DOGS, flowers, skittles and stalls are all part of the Ducis and Everleigh village show, at Collingbourne Ducis on Saturday, September 15, from 12.30pm.

Villagers in Collingbourne Ducis and Everleigh will be getting together to provide an afternoon of entertainment for all the family.

In addition to a musical display from the Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division from Tidworth, there will be the annual flower and produce show, organised by the local gardening club, and a fun dog show organised by Caroline Lee.

There will also be a donkey derby, a tug of war competition and a display of vintage and classic cars.

Sideshows include a children’s fairground ride, skittles, putting, a coconut shy, stalls of all varieties and a licensed bar. Cream teas are available in the village hall.

Show chairman Robert East said: “Following the last three very successful shows, we are aiming to arrange an afternoon which will provide fun, entertainment and something of interest to everyone.

“Given our proximity to local garrisons and the training area, we aim to give the show a military flavour.

“This year we have been very fortunate to engage the services of the Band of the Prince of Wales’s Division from Tidworth, which will be a great treat.”
