NEW College’s win tally in Division One West remains at just one after they were well-beaten 4-0 by reigning champions Tytherington.
Justin Bishop, Joe White, Jason Wood and Dale Emery were all on target for the Rocks.
College first-team coach Rob Hopkins said: “We played really well against Malmesbury on Wednesday (when College won 3-2), but it was like a different team on Saturday.
“On Wednesday we dealt with the physical side of it well and we didn’t do that against Tytherington.
“Teams are used to the way we play from the back now and they were able to deal with it.
“We made silly errors that we paid for. We were sloppy in our passing and weren’t really at the races for long periods of the game.”
Cricklade came from behind to defeat Old Woodstock and ensure they ended the weekend five points off the summit. Graham Jackson’s men are well in touch with leaders Brimscombe & Thrupp as they have a game in hand.
A Danny Bone effort had put Cricklade up against it on Saturday, but it all turned round in the second half as Ben Carter and Adam O’Bree gave the visiting side a 2-1 win.
Purton had a bad day at the office as they were outclassed 6-1 by Brimscombe & Thrupp.
Dave Gee netted for the Red House side but efforts from Gary Probert, Matt Green, Lee Pritchard, Craig Cole (2) and an own goal ensured an easy win for the visitors.
A goal four minutes into second half injury-time condemned Fairford to defeat at Lambourn Sports. The hosts opened the scoring on 22 minutes with Russ Benham on hand to smash home a loose ball after a poor clearance.
Fairford struggled to get to grips with the game in the opening exchanges with Callum Parsons' 38th-minute drive the first real opportunity. But they rallied in the second period and Nathan Gambling and Lee Simpson were both denied by Steve Howe in the Lambourn goal.
The equaliser arrived when a shot from Ryan Merchant was saved and Simpson was on hand to tap home the loose ball.
Liam Griffin won it for Lambourn in the dying moments, when he headed a cross from the left past Ben Mitchell. Finally, a Kevin Reape effort was not enough to prevent Malmesbury being sunk 3-1 by Carterton.
Lewis Brownhill, Chris Mills and Adam Loveridge registered for the Oxfordshire side.
