A HORSELESS steeplechase is one of the wacky events organised to raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
The Rotary clubs of Marlborough and district and Swindon Phoenix have organised the event on Sunday, September 30 on the cross country course at the Barbury Estate.
For novice runners there is a two and half mile course where they can jump over or under the jumps while there is a five mile course for more experienced runners.
The event is being held during national Air Ambulance Week, September 24-30.
Caroline Corrigan, head of fundraising at Wiltshire AIr Ambulance, said: “We’d like the county to put their creative thinking caps on and arrange a fundraising event however big or small during that week to raise funds.
"You still have time to get involved and can read more information and ideas at our website www.wiltshireairambulance.co.uk or call 01380 739453.”
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust has to raise £700,000 a year. Currently the air ambulance, which is a joint police helicopter, is called out to an average of three incidents a day in the county.
