The mayor of Trowbridge popped into the Mind charity shop in Hilperton to help celebrate its first birthday.
The Hackett Place shop has been open for a year, and the staff and volunteers who run it, as well as customers and mayor Cllr John Knight, celebrated with cake.
Manager Lisa Lee said: “It was lovely, the mayor came down, as well as lots of customers. We had a big birthday cake which is all gobbled up now.
“It’s been great. People are starting to know we’re here and we’ve got our hands full with donations. At the start it was quiet, but now everybody’s getting to know us.”
The shop sells clothes, bric-a-brac and a large variety of other items to raise money for the mental health charity.
It is open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday, and is run by Ms Lee,an assistant manager and 14 volunteers.
The shop is always looking for more volunteers or donations. For more information, call 01225 920641.
