A memorial bench to Connor Robinson, a 12-year-old Trowbridge boy who died of cancer last year, has been unveiled in North Bradley.
Connor – who lived locally with mum Jenny Wills and attended its primary school – lost his battle with a rare skin cancer of the mouth last January.
The idea of the bench came from Lynsey Doel, whose son Dan was his friend. It was unveiled at North Bradley Peace Mem-orial Recreation Ground last Friday, after Mrs Doel and Dan raised £350 for it.
Mrs Doel said: “The loss really hit us, as it did for many I know. We talked about how we could keep his memory alive.
“Myself and Dan came up with the idea of a bench in the park where Connor used to play and how we could all go there to remember him throughout our lives.”
Ms Wills said: “I think it’s a brilliant tribute for him. It’s still such a special place for me. I’m eternally grateful to Lynsey.
“It’s nice that, 18 months on, people, still want to remember him.”
