A large crowd enjoyed Mildenhall Fete, which will benefit the village hall, parish church and sports and social club.

There was a variety of attractions including pony and trap rides run by Jane Collett, pony rides, mini Land Rovers for children to drive, a welly throwing contest and even a human fruit machine. The fete takes place every other year and the dog show was judged by John Desmond who runs Mildenhall’s village pub, the Horseshoe, with his wife Pam.

One of the organisers, Derek Price, said: “We had a really good crowd and a good turn out for the raffle, whose sponsors included Tesco and the l Shoot, and we had lots of games for the younger children to enjoy.

“We hope to have maintained what we took in 2010, about £2,800, which will be shared between the village hall, St John the Baptist church and the sports and social club,” said Mr Price.
