Ushers site homes plan approved

An application by Newland Homes to build 79 homes on the site of the former Ushers Bottling Plant in Conigre, Trowbridge, has been approved by Wiltshire Council.

The firm has already begun ground work and hopes construction can get under way soon, with a showroom and the first homes available for sale around March or April next year.

The remainder of the properties are expected to be finished by spring 2014, subject to the housing market. The development will be a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

I thought that bottling was at the Timbrell St end of the Ushers complex. Anyone?

I always thought it was at the end of St Thomas Road near to St. James Church. Didn't know until recently that The Castle Inn is now flats - parents Jimmy and Joyce were the landlords there in the "good old days"

Ushers bottling plant was between Union St and Duke St, what is nowBrewery Walk and Taylors View. The site in question in the report, between Union St and British Row, was the kegging plant.
