Updated: Ditch crash closes A350 at Heywood

A woman was cut out of a car following a crash on the A350 which closed the road between Westbury and Yarnbrook this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 8.38am where a Renault Clio driven by a Trowbridge woman in the direction of Yarnbrook had left the road and crashed into the ditch.

The driver was trapped in the vehicle and ambulance and fire crews worked remove her from the car, cutting the roof off the vehicle.

Police closed the road between Yarnbrook and Westbury.

The woman, in her 30s, was not thought to be seriously injured but was complaining of neck and back pain and was taken to Bath's Royal United Hospital as a precaution.

The road was reopened at 9.38am.

Happens to me often enough on me bike, coming back from the "Jolly Gravedigger" at closing time. Never got in no newspaper, though
