Wiltshire Police are appealing for information following a series of burglaries in Malmesbury and the surrounding villages.
There have been six separate incidents in the past two months which may be linked.
The burglaries have occurred during the daytime.
Officers are asking residents to be extra vigilant and report suspicious activity.
PC Graham McLaughlin, of the Malmesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We will be conducting additional patrols to deter further break-ins.
“Anyone with information is asked to call us on 101, but if you see suspicious activity please contact us immediately on 999.”
Residents are advised to take basic security precautions such as ensuring all windows and doors are secure, ensuring any house alarms are properly activated while out, labelling postcodes on high value items with a UV marker, photographing distinctive items, and keep records of serial numbers.
Anyone who believes they know the identity of the offenders can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
