Funeral date for Trowbridge stabbing victim
The funeral of Trowbridge stabbing victim Shaun Hulbert will take place on Monday, a month after he died.
The 26-year-old died in hospital surrounded by his family on August 25, after suffering complications in his recovery from being stabbed outside Manor House Flats in Trowbridge on July 24.
He had been rushed to hospital from his Aldeburgh Place home on August 12 after collapsing, and remained in hospital until his death.
His funeral will take place at 1.45pm at West Wiltshire Crematorium, Semington. His body will be taken by a horse and carriage from the family home to the crematorium, leaving the house at 1pm.
During the service two songs by Tracey Chapman, Fast Cars and Baby Can You Hold Me, will be played as well as Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You. The service will also include the hymn The Lord Is My Shepherd and the Lord’s Prayer. After the service mourners will gather for a wake at the John Bull pub in Studley Green from about 3pm.

Speaking shortly after his death, Mr Hulbert’s mother Kate said: “I am heartbroken that Shaun is gone. We were able to be with him in hospital so he wasn't alone. He died with all of his family around him. He was close to all of his brothers, his nan and granddad and his girlfriend, who will miss him greatly.”
Shane Gulliver, 33, of Navigator Close, Hilperton, had been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to the stabbing. Detectives and the Crown Prosecution Service are still reviewing the charges.
