Michael Chudley, 62, who has been charged in connection with the shooting of Devizes solicitor Jim Ward will next appear in court on October 5.
Chudley, of Rowde, a property developer, had been due in court on Monday but this hearing has been adjourned.
He has been charged with attempted murder, threats to kill, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence and carrying a firearm with criminal intent.
Mr Ward, of Bratton, was shot at the office of Morris, Goddard and Ward in St John’s Street, Devizes, on July 2 and died on July 22 in Frenchay Hospital, near Bristol, with his family at his side.
