LAMBOURN Sports Reserves stormed to the top of Division Two of the North Berks League with a 2-1 win at Wantage Town A.

Marc Reid scored for the hosts but goals from Gary Fisher and Richard Guy won the match for Lambourn.

The match between Coleshill United and Ardington & Lockinge was the opening game of second annual NBFL Groundhop Day.

Some 171 spectators saw the away side run out 5-2 winners thanks to doubles from Adam Little and Jamie Clarke and a Tom Eatwell strike.

Jason Evans scored twice for Coleshill and also missed an early penalty.

The second of the four matches in the Groundhop Day saw Division One Wootton & Dry Sandford sunk 1-0 at Faringdon Town in front of 181 spectators.

The only goal of the game was scored early in the second half by Matt Pill, against the run of play.

In Division Five, Faringdon Town A were well-beaten 4-2 by Didcot Casuals A.

Shaun Beard hit a hat-trick for Didcot and Wayne Budzisewski also scored, while Nick Wojcik and Matt Curtis replied for Faringdon.
