OLD Town United moved to the top of Swindon & District League Division One after Steve Nesbitt struck a hat-trick in their 4-3 victory over Tap and Barrel.
Sam Crawford also found the net for the visitors, while Vince Toomey, Mark Thatcher and Danny Pringle also netted in a game which was in doubt until the final whistle.
Bassett Bulldogs and Fox & Hounds produced an entertaining game in which the home side led at 2-1 at half time, but in the second half the visitors fought back to win 4-3 thanks to two goals from Daryl Kemble, and one each for Lee Bratten and Azad Ali.
Chiseldon ’s poor start to the season continued with a 5-1 loss at home to new team Sportz Central, while Ferndale WMC beat Larry’s Plaice 5-4. James Watt scored twice, while Colin Davis, Justin Hyde and Louis Bracknell also found the night for the away side.
Fratellos moved joint-top of the Premier Division with a 2-0 away win at AFC Globe. The game was locked at 0-0 at half-time, but the visitors came to life in the second period as Dave Slattery and Steve Davis found the net to seal the victory.
Auto Engine Tune kept the pressure on the top two with a fine win over Spectrum, with four goals coming from Steve Winchcombe and single strikes from Wayne Savoury and Mark Priory. Carl O’Regan and Mark Cowen grabbed two back for Spectrum but it was all in vain.
Queensfield returned to winning ways beating Highworth Town A 3-0, with goals from Daniel Hiscox, Michael Jack and Walter Lumbey.
