Encore for Dozy and band (From This Is Wiltshire)

HIT Sixties band Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich are making a much called for return to Devizes.

It follows a gig in March at the Ceres Hall when many people were left disappointed after tickets quickly sold out.

Businessman Bruce Hopkins, a friend of Dozy – real name Trevor Ward-Davies, from Patney – organised the last event with the band in March.

Even before the tickets went on sale, 140 of the 260 available had been sold.

Because Mr Hopkins wanted room for dancing, the numbers were limited.

The rest went very quickly and Mr Hopkins said he would try to get the band back again so those who didn’t manage to get tickets could be compensated.

The band will perform at the Corn Exchange on December 15, but Mr Hopkins warns that the £17-a-head tickets will go quickly.

He said: “There are fewer than 100 tickets available because I have set aside some for people on the waiting list who weren’t able to get tickets in March.”

Although the band will reprise their big hits of the Sixties, including Xanadu, Zabadak, Hold Tight, Bend It and Save Me, they will reflect the festive season with seasonal songs like White Christmas.

Also on the bill are Pete Lamb’s Heartbeats and the Strong Twins, Gina and Christie, accompanying Mr Hopkins, who will also be singing.

The tickets are on sale at Devizes Fine Kitchens in Northgate Street.
