MELKSHAM United U14 ran out narrow winners in a pulsating top-of-the-table clash with Bath City.

United scored five minutes from time through Liz Bool to take the points.

Frome Town and Derry Hill recorded respective 10-0 victories against Warminster and FC Chippenham. Melksham were also 10-0 victors against Frome Youth with Cicely Stanley, Sophie Cross, Emily Hutchinson and Phoebe Collyer among the goalscorers.

Swindon Town top the U16 division after a 5-4 victory at Frome Town Ladies.

Lavington went down 5-3 to Wootton Bassett despite a hat-trick from Eleanor Cheetham.

Trowbridge Wanderers gained their first points, winning 7-2 at Larkhall but Derry Hill lost a close encounter to Highworth 5-3, with their goals scored by Asmara Gibbs and Fenella Cooper.

Abbie Pickett scored five times to help FC Chippenham continue their fine start with a win over Swindon Spitfires.

On Sunday, Melksham United fell to their first defeat of the season, 7-2 to Highworth Ladies, the Melksham scorers being Hannah Bishop and Chloe Timbrell.

FC Chippenham remained unbeaten after winning 4-1 against Marlborough Ladies with Kathryn Kilgour bagging a hat-trick.
