Internships available at Job Fair

A job Fair is being held for young people in the Warminster area to provide advice on the job market and help them polish up their application skills.

The event, at Warminster Civic Centre on Tuesday, will include CV writing workshops and advice on refining interview techniques.

There will also be companies offering apprenticeships, training agencies and recruitment specialists and advisors from Job Centre Plus, Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire College.

Warminster Town Council will fund 10 six-week work placements with local employers, with Waitrose and Warminster Community Radio already signed up to the scheme.

Wiltshire councillor Pip Ridout said: “A survey carried out at Kingdown School showed that youngsters were especially wanting help with CV writing and interview techniques, and also advice on what employers are looking for in terms of experience and qualifications.”

The event, which runs from noon-8pm, is aimed at 16-25-year-olds but other jobseekers are welcome. It has been organised by the town council, Wiltshire Council and Enterprise Warminster.
