Developers of the former caretaker’s house at Devizes School plan to drop the proposed office.

Devizes architect Howard Waters and his business partner Duncan Mathewson have been granted permission to demolish the boarded up house and build an office and coffee shop on the ground floor and five duplex apartments above.

But they have had second thoughts about creating an office and have submitted a revised planning application.

Mr Waters said: “We want to improve the design of the apartments by losing the office space and reducing the size of the coffee shop to give each apartment its own ground floor entrance.”
