CORSHAM Town Reserves player-manager Justin Flowers reckons his team could easily have claimed more than a point from high-flying Chippenham Park last weekend.

Visitors Park took the lead in the first half but youngster Connor McCarron came off the bench and netted the equaliser with around five minutes remaining.

Flowers said: “They were second in the league so we knew it was going to be a tough game but I was happy with how we played.

“Connor McCarron is only young but I was really pleased with how he did when he came on and we probably should have come away with a win.

“We had three penalty claims in the game and you’d expect to get one of them – but that didn’t happen.”

Park dropped down to third in the Premier Division table after they were leapfrogged by Purton Reserves, who beat Marlborough Town 4-1, and Bradford Town Reserves, who drew 1-1 at RGV Shrewton.

Wilts Calne Town got back to winning ways as they edged out Ludgershall Sports 3-2, with Tom Slater netting twice and Mark Sharratt also on target.

Devizes Town Reserves recovered from conceding 11 goals in two games with a 5-0 thrashing of Beversbrook while Vale of Pewsey notched up only their second win of the season with a 2-1 triumph over Southbrook.
