A pupil at St Augustine’s has won a Kindle e-reader after taking part in a summer reading challenge involving all three of Trowbridge’s secondary schools.
St Augustine’s Catholic College, the Clarendon College and the John of Gaunt School held the joint summer reading challenge for the first time this year. Trowbridge Teens Read was organised by the librarians in the three schools and was supported by Trowbridge Library and by Waterstones, which offered participants a discount card.
Each student who completed the challenge of reading and reviewing five or more books was entered into a draw to win the Kindle.
On Monday, students from each school went to Trowbridge Library, where Basil Nankivell, Trowbridge community librarian, picked Sophie Rose’s name from the hat to win the prize.
