NORMAN Roberts, owner of Lemon Plaice fish-and-chip shop in Southbroom Road, Devizes, has come to the rescue of the Devizes Town Youth under-10s football team for the second successive year, ensuring the young players are fully equipped for the new season.

Youth coach Jamie Arnold-Drewett said: “Finding a sponsor for any team is always hard and even more so in the current climate, but Norman’s generosity has enabled the under-10s to kit out their two Mid-Wilts teams.

“We’re hugely grateful to Norman for his kindness and support.”

Mr Roberts, who has owned the Lemon Plaice for four years, said: “I am delighted to continue to support the team and give something back to the youth in the community.”

At the end of last season, the Devizes Town Knights won the Division Six league and the Dragons finished second in Division Two.

The Under-12 team of Devizes Town Youth is currently looking for new players. Anyone interested in joining the club should call Deb Minty on 07877 361470.
