Rugby and cricket star to discuss career in Atworth

Former Gloucestershire cricketer, Bristol and England rugby player and charity fundraiser Alastair Hignell will be speaking at Stonar School in Atworth next week.

After a professional career spanning two sports and time as a BBC commentator, in 1999 he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and is now patron of the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre. He was awarded a CBE in 2009 for his services to charity.

He will discuss his life and career from 7pm on Tuesday, in a talk entitled When the Goalposts Shift.
