DARTS: THIRTEEN times world darts champion Phil "The Power" Taylor will be on the oche at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge on Friday, December 1.

Taylor, who won the World Grand Prix in Dublin last month, will compete against local players in an exhibition organised by Authentic Signings of Trowbridge.

The man considered the greatest player of all time by rivals and commentators has also donated several signed shirts to be raffled on the night.

Spectators will be drawn at random to play against Taylor on a one-leg basis with the action due to be shown on a big screen in the hall.

Taylor told the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News he was looking forward to trading tungsten with the Trowbridge public.

He said: "It's nice to have a break from competition and get out and see some new faces.

"I don't do as many exhibitions as I used to because I have a pretty hectic schedule, but I try to visit as many places as possible.

"I've even had a few offers from Australia, but I just don't have the time to go out there."

Taylor will play at least 20 legs of darts during the evening and will pose for photographs with fans.

He said he would not be surprised if one of the lucky spectators selected to play beat him to the double.

"I'm sure there will be some good players there and anything can happen over one leg.

"I'm always watching and learning from other people and it will be no different in Trowbridge."
