Armed police swooped on St John's churchyard in Devizes just after noon today.
It is understood two police vans from a fast response units arrived at the churchyard where ten days ago Matthew Baggott, 34, was stabbed to death.
Police dog units and armed police scoured the area.
The churchyard has become a meeting place for friends of Mr Baggott since his death on September 6.
A makeshift shrine has been set up on a tombstone dating from the 19th century.
Since Mr Baggott's death people living near the churchyard have expressed their fears about people being allowed to openly drink in the area, even though it is covered by bylaws that prohibit alcohol being drunk in a public place.
