THE British National Party will battle for a seat on Calne Town Council when 48-year-old Robert Baggs stands in the Lickhill Ward by-election on January 31.
Four others from political parties including the Green Party, Liberal Democrats, the United Kingdom Independence Party and the Conservative party will go up against Mr Baggs in the election.
Mr Baggs, who is a father of four and grandfather of three said: "I want to do my bit to ensure that they and future generations inherit a town and country that they can be proud of."
The by-election was called after UKIP councillor Jill Martin resigned in November.
