PUPILS at Lavington School learned how to make their own robots and solve problems in an imaginary ocean.
Students from the University of Bath spent Monday and Tuesday with more than 130 year 10 pupils who were split into teams of four of different abilities.
The pupils made their own robots and then had to solve various problems such as releasing dolphins caught in nets, launching a lifeboat and removing sharks from the water.
Design and technology teacher Sue Block said the event was aimed at improving pupils' computer skills, team working, problem solving and for them to use their initiative.
She said: "The university people said on the second day they were at the school the team that scored the most points had scored the most out of the other schools they had visited this academic year."
This was the second year that the university had come to the school to run the robotics event.
