Driving instructor accused of sex assault on pupil
A DRIVING instructor is alleged to have sexually assaulted his teenage pupil.
The incident happened during a lesson in Cranmore Avenue in Park South on Tuesday between 10am and 11am.
Police say the instructor's 18-year-old female victim from the town centre was left in a state of shock. Officers are now contacting former pupils to see if the incident was a one-off.

"This behaviour may have been perceived to be of a minor nature at the time, but we are taking this case very seriously," said Acting Detective Sergeant Corin Dennison from Swindon police.
"We are involved in further inquiries to see if there are any other victims out there.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been subjected to a similar sexual assault in the course of taking a driving lesson.
"As a driving instructor you are not classed in a position of trust, like a schoolteacher would be, but you do, however, have to have professionalism."
Local driving instructors were shocked to hear about the alleged incident. A-Team driving instructor David Peers said: "I'm disappointed about this. When someone learns to drive they put their faith in you to teach them to a high standard.
"They should be treated with respect."
Rosie Newton, an instructor from the Burleigh School of Motoring, based in Highworth, said: "This is awful and I would say quite unusual.
"I have been teaching for 22 years in the Gloucester and Swindon areas and haven't seen or heard a story like this in the media before."
A 56-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gablecross police station for questioning. He was released on bail pending further inquiries and has been ordered to return to the station in two weeks' time.
