Anne Snelgrove has asked for residents with a passion for cutting carbon to contact her so she can invite them to meet the MPs who are backing her new bill.

Anne is offering two tickets to a reception which is set to be held in support of her Private Members' Bill, which seeks to control the energy performance of public sector buildings.

The House of Commons reception is on the evening of Thursday 24th April, ahead of the Second Reading of the Private Members' Bill. This event was set up to allow MPs to find out more about what the Bill proposes, and why the organisations supporting it are calling on MPs to vote in its favour at second reading on Friday 25th April.

Anne said: "I have dubbed my Bill Swindon's Climate Change Bill - because I want it to be part of Swindon's green drive. I want Swindon residents to be able to be part of the excitement and to meet some of the organisations and MPs who are supporting me."

The organisations supporting Anne Snelgrove's Bill include the Association for the Conservation of Energy, Friends of the Earth, the Sustainable Energy Partnership, Micropower Council, Campaign to Protect Rural England, British Energy Efficiency Federation and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Intelligent Energy. Anne's Bill aims to improve the energy performance of all office buildings on the public estate which will, in turn, kick-start higher sustainability standards throughout the rest of the UK office market. At the event there will be a photo-call opportunity for MPs who support Anne Snelgrove's Bill.
