Conference to tackle employment issues

There will be a Wiltshire Employment Conference, held on Friday 23rd May at Devizes Town Hall, 9.30am - 1.30pm.

The conference is a culmination of a series of forums throughout the county, focusing on issues that employers face relating to the employment of staff within tourism, manufacturing, retail, care, rural and military sectors, and to identify the training/skills needs.

The forums have included representatives from the Learning & Skills Council, Jobcentre Plus, Wiltshire County Council and the Association.

Amongst the speakers will be; the Managing Director of apetito Ltd, Paul Freeston; the Area Director (Gloucestershire and Wiltshire) of the Learning and Skills Council, Marinos Paphitis; the Customer Services Director of Jobcentre Plus South West, Claire McGuckin and the Head of Economic Development and Regeneration for Wiltshire County Council, Alistair Cunningham.

There will be an opportunity to ask the conference speakers questions during the Question and Answer session following the presentations.

The conference is a free event and the draft agenda is attached.
