A TEAM of chefs from Clarendon College in Trowbridge have triumphed in the apetito Wessex Schools Masterchef Championships.
This year's win makes it a hat-trick for Clarendon who have won the competition for the past three years.
Three teams of GCSE Food technology students from Clarendon, George Ward School in Melksham and Frome Community College took part in the final last week.
The teams were put through their paces at frozen food specialist apetito's Product Development Centre on the Canal road, Trowbridge.
The teams had to design and cook a menu of three courses based around the theme of "Best of the West".
The meals ranged from Frome's local bacon and onion foccacia to George Ward's Wiltshire steak pie in 6X ale gravy through to Clarendon's clotted cream rice pudding brulee.

The judging panel, headed by apetito chief executive Paul Freeston, awarded first place to the students from the Clarendon College for their balanced menu and creative use of local flavours.
Mr Freeston said: "It was a very hard job to pick a winner as the standard and quality was the highest we have seen in the competition to date."
The winning team took home £500 for their food technology department as well as individual prizes for each member of the team.
