POPULAR children's author Jeremy Strong popped into Tidworth Library on Thursday to read to the children and answer their questions.
Children flocked to the library to meet the author of well-loved stories such as There's A Viking In My Bed.
Jeremy read extracts from several of his books to his avid audience, who listened in awe.
He then spoke about how he writes his stories, answered questions and signed copies of books for the children.
Phil Edwards, community librarian, explained that 2008 is the National Year of Reading, and the library service is holding various activities and events across the county.
"Jeremy is doing a number of visits and he has come along here today, hopefully to encourage children to read his books and start reading," he said.
"It's great to have him and the kids have all enjoyed it."
