WEST Wilts MP Dr Andrew Murrison has reported West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust for failing to provide him with information requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
He has written to the Information Commissioner, who promotes access to official information and deals with complaints about breaches of the Act.
Dr Murrison wrote to the PCT to request details of discussions with the independent sector on the possibility of it maintaining the doomed community hospitals in his constituency. He said in a letter dated May 30 chief executive Carol Clarke declined to provide him with the information.
Dr Murrison said: "The PCT has a very poor record in communicating with my constituents and this recent refusal will not enhance its reputation."
In his letter to the Information Commissioner he pointed out the public interest in the disclosure of the information and requested the commissioner override the PCT's refusal.
