SWINDON police's hunt for a suspected Vietnamese drugs ring has taken them out of the suburbs and into the town centre.

A fifth cannabis factory raid was carried out at a house in Alexandra Road, off Station Road, yesterday.

Two more people were arrested in connection with the mass production of cannabis in the town as part of Operation Dali.

A 51-year-old man was taken in on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and a 48-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

Police have not yet revealed the amount of cannabis found at the latest property but it is believed the amount from all the houses now totals more than £1.5m.

The find comes after raids in Okebourne Park, Liden; Haydon Street; Edgar Row Close, Wroughton, and Downland Close.

One man who lived in the street said: "I go to work at 3.30am and come back at 3.30pm and I had never seen anything suspicious.

"It's normally quiet. We read about the other ones in the paper but it's a surprise to see we have got one in our own street."
