A FURTHER four Vietnamese have appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court in connection with the series of cannabis factories found across the town.

Tam Cao, Tan Troung and a 17-year-old girl all denied being concerned in the production of cannabis.

It is said that they took part in the cultivation of the class C drug between Friday, July 21 and Thursday, July 27.

The fourth person, Binh Nguyen, had pleaded guilty to a similar charge at an earlier hearing.

Cao, 26, and Nguyen, 42, were living at a house in Padstow Road, Churchward.

Troung, 45, gave his address as Edgar Row Close, Wroughton, and the teenager was living in the town centre.

Rob Ross, for Nguyen, told the court that his client accepted that he faced a jail term and deportation from the country.

He said: "This man made admissions in interview and entered his plea at the earliest opportunity.

"He accepts custody and deportation are inevitable."

A fifth person, Bang Pham, 24, of Read Street, has pleaded guilty to being involved to growing the drugs but is considering whether to apply to change his plea.

The four men were remanded in custody to a trial date to be fixed and the teenage girl was released on unconditional bail.

It is thought that sentence may not be passed on any of the defendants who have pleaded guilty until all the trials have been completed.

Police raided 12 houses across the town in Operation Dali during the summer recovering cannabis plants worth an estimated £3.5m.

The first of the cannabis factories was at Okebourne Park in Liden which police stumbled upon when they were called out on another matter.

Last month Tung Pham, 20, and his girlfriend Thi Nguyen, 32, were jailed for 21 months for their part in growing drugs there.

And the couple could be thrown out of the country after completing their sentences.
