PEWSEY produced a stylish second half performance to take the bonus point win and consolidate second spot in Dorset & Wilts One North.
Strong up front, with only 10 minutes on the clock Vale drove a five-metre scrum over for number eight Phil Vallis to touch down.
The visitors were competitive in the first half and responded with a penalty, a high penalty count – with prop Mike Breakspear being yellow-carded – frustrating the home side.
The second half opened with Vale hooker Jeremy Horton darting through a gap and off loading to flanker Chris Spence who went under the posts, fly-half James Haynes converting.
Trowbridge rallied with the second penalty but Vale were in control for the remainder of the game, Haynes making a searing break and his pass sending centre Ty Lewis in under the posts, Haynes converting.
A third Trowbridge penalty followed, but Pewsey finished well, scrum-half Gareth Stone and full-back Frank Poulson setting up wing Tony Bloomfield for the final try.
