Shane wants Moore of the same from in-form Cats
PRODUCING more of the same is key if Wildcats are to haul themselves into the top half of the EPL come the play-offs.
That is the opinion of D-man Shane Moore, who says Swindon are coming into form ‘at the right time’ with 22 games remaining until the knockout stages commence.
Wildcats have won eight of their last 11 games and grabbed their first four-point weekend of the season after wins against Sheffield and Telford on Saturday and Sunday.
Moore said: “I think we’re there or thereabouts where we want to be, and we’ve hit form at the right time because we’re climbing the table ready for the play-offs.
“We’ve really grown as a team and to see us converting games into wins in regular time rather than having to take it through to overtime is a really good thing.
“All these games we go into now, we know we’ve got a chance of winning. Guys are playing with a chip on their shoulder because they know we aren’t afraid to change things up.
“People play for their jobs and I think that’s where we’re at now, people know that they have to perform to keep their roles and that’s why we’re doing the business.”
Sixth-placed Swindon have a 10-point cushion in the play-offs and their immediate concern now is to attempt to leapfrog Slough in fifth.
Moore continued: “We should be aiming to climb as high as we can. We’re a team that should be in the top half of the table and if we can move up to fifth or fourth place then perfect.
“We’re in a really good position now where we’ve just overtaken Bracknell and have a game in hand, and we’re also three points behind Slough.
“We’ve got double-headers with both those teams coming up so the next couple of weeks are going to be really important for us.
“I think we’ve got to keep doing what we’re doing. As a team we’ve grown really strong in the last couple of months and we have to build on what is a solid base.”
