NON-LEAGUE ROUND-UP: Fog plays havoc with local fixtures

SWINDON Supermarine looked set to bounce back to winning ways against Abingdon United last night, only to see their Southern League Division One South & West tie abandoned at half-time.

Marine led thanks to goals from Chris Taylor and Ashley Edenborough in the opening period, but freezing fog engulfed the Webb’s Wood Stadium to the point where the referee deemed the conditions unsafe for play to continue.

Dave Webb’s men will hope the fog has lifted in time for the weekend trip to Hungerford Town.

Shrivenham’s Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy clash at Aylesbury United was also abandoned with Shrivvy trailing 4-0 after 63 minutes.

Highworth Town’s visit to Cheltenham Saracens in the Hellenic Premier League was postponed.
