WILTSHIRE star Liam Dawson is set to fine-tune his skills in India next month.
The 22-year-old Hampshire all-rounder, from Calne, will jet off alongside Ageas Bowl teammates Jimmy Adams, Hamza Riazuddin, Sean Terry and Chris Wood for 10 days of intense training at the Global Cricket School in Pune on February 11.
The trip will be the third time Goatacre ace Dawson has gone to the Indian training facility and he reckons his visit will provide the perfect off-season experience after helping Hampshire lift both the Friends Life t20 and CB40 trophies last summer.
“I went in 2005 and again a few years ago and it’s going to be nice to go out there and train in some nice conditions - it’s hard work but you always get a great standard in the nets.” said Dawson.
“A lot of people fly out to different countries to play in differnt T20 competitions, and I may look to do that next year, but sometimes, if it’s been a tough season, it’s good to do something like this.’’
Dawson and Hampshire fly off to Barbados for their third consecutive pre-season tour on March 10.
In January 2011, the Ageas Bowl side reached the final of the Caribbean T20.
