Robins back for Andersen and Batchelor following Bjerre signing (From This Is Wiltshire)

SWINDON co-owner Gary Patchett has once again asked for permission to open talks with Hans Andersen and Troy Batchelor after Peterborough announced Kenneth Bjerre as their new number one this morning.

The Dane revealed last night that he had been given the green light to begin racing at the start of the new season after his 2012 campaign was ended by a broken leg, and the Panthers have acted quickly to sign him up to lead their team in 2013.

Bjerre’s signing means there is now no place for Andersen in the Panthers side, while co-owner Julie Mahoney ruled out a return for Batchelor weeks ago, and Patchett has asked for permission to bring the pair back to Blunsdon on loan.

The Alwalton side say the BSPA have ruled that Batchelor can only leave on a full transfer, while any decision on Andersen has been delayed until a management committee meeting on February 15.

“This (Bjerre’s signing) has just confirmed what we widely expected. We have now asked Peterborough once again for permission to speak to Hans and Troy,” Patchett said.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have informed Swindon they will not be hosting the scheduled pre-season challenge fixture between the two sides on Monday March 18 due to the unavailabilty of the track at the East of England Showground. The return meeting at the Abbey Stadium on March 21 has also been cancelled.

The Robins are now exploring other options for their pre-season meetings.
