RUGBY: Morgan relaxed over Vase tie

MARLBOROUGH captain Nathan Morgan insists his side will not be fazed by a step into the unknown as they bid to take another stride towards Twickenham this weekend.
Morgan’s side host Gloucester Premier League outfit Drybrook in the South West Vase final, effectively the quarter-final stage of the national vase.
Victory for Marlborough, who were crowned Southern Counties champions when they beat Chipping Norton earlier this month, would leave them just one win away from a trip to the home of English rugby.
“I’ve been involved with the first team for seven years and it’s going to be the biggest game I’ve ever played in,” said Morgan.
“It’s a bit of a step into the unknown for us because we don’t really know much about Drybrook (the Forest of Dean side have lost just one this season).
“I believe they videoed our game last weekend (a 51-5 league victory over local rivals Pewsey Vale) so I assume they will have seen that but we want to concentrate on playing our own rugby.
“There’s no getting way from the fact that we’re well into the national stages now but nerves are natural and I think that everyone is excited about it. We had a great training session on Tuesday.
“In all of the other rounds we’ve always been away from home too so hopefully being at home will mean that we get a good crowd along to cheer us on.”
