WILTSHIRE'S bowlers were made to struggle on day one of their Minor Counties Championship Western Division clash with Cheshire at Chester Boughton Hall yesterday.

The home side won the toss and decided to bat, making 321-6 from 76 overs on the opening day's play.

Opener Warren Goodwin made 104 from 134 balls, while knocks of 62 from Khalid Sawas and Lee Dixon helped the total along.

Tahir Afridi took 3-64 for the visitors, Ashur Morrison with 2-87, with Cheshire due to bat for the final 14 overs of their innings this morning.
