RUGBY: MINETY women drew 15-15 at home to Cirencester on Sunday in their season opener.
Despite having the majority of the early possession Minety soon trailed 10-0 through tries from Beki Mingins and Sam Alderman. Towards the end of the first half Minety struck back through a Holly Matthews but trailed 15-5 at half time through a third Cirencester try from Sophie Harris.
The second half was keenly contested with excellent last ditch tackling from Jenny Hughes keeping Minety out on several occasions.
Minety's pressure finally paid off with a try from Catrin Garland. This was followed in the dying minutes with a further score from Katie Mayhew leaving the final result a 15 - 15 draw.
