SWINDON ROBINS: Future stars on show at Blunsdon
6:00am Thursday 29th August 2013 in Sport
SPEEDWAY’S stars of the future will be on show after the Robins’ home clash with Poole Pirates this evening.
The meeting is a repeat of last season’s Elite League final with both teams firmly in the hunt for the play-offs this year and the hotly-anticipated clash will be followed by six heats of high-quality under 16 racing.
As well as two-time world champion Greg Hancock and rising star Darcy Ward being on show for the Pirates in the main meeting, the young 125cc and 250cc starlets will include 12-year-old Swindon rider Tom Brennan who is the reigning 125cc British champion and 14-year-old Chippenham racer Callum Walker.
Junior grass track world champion Zach Wajtknecht will also be in action, alongside highly rated nine-year-old Harry McGurk, in what should be a real spectacle for what is expected to be a bumper crowd.
The junior racing is set to begin a few minutes after the end of the regular meeting.
