CHIPPENHAM TOWN: Joe finds his feet again
JOE Lennox is hoping to get his career back on the right track at Chippenham Town.
The 21-year-old winger was playing in League Two for Plymouth Argyle at the start of last season.
But after being released by the Pilgrims in January and having a short spell at Conference South Bath City, the former Bristol City youth player found himself without a club this summer.
Lennox, who made 23 first-team appearances for Plymouth, scoring once against Exeter City last December, finally ended his hiatus from the game to sign for the Bluebirds but says that he hasn’t given up on his dream of returning to the professional ranks.
“I’m just looking to play football again really. I wanted to get back into full-time, which I haven’t been able to do yet, so it’s just about part-time football at the moment,” said the Chippenham new boy.
“I’ve not been able to train over the summer because there were no clubs that I could go to – I couldn’t go back to Bath because things weren’t really working out there.
“I’ve just been keeping fit and doing my own things really.
“A mate of mine knows Steve (Winter) and I’ve been doing a bit of work for him so I just spoke to him about coming over to train.
“This is the first time, I’ve played at this level. There’s a lot of long balls and it’s massively different but hopefully it’ll be alright.
“But I still want to try and get back in to full-time football at some point.”
