MELKSHAM Town's ascent up the Toolstation League Premier Division table continued as Gary Higdon's hat-trick downed Longwell Green Sports at The Conigre on Saturday.

Darren Perrin's men, who host Winterbourne United tonight, claimed their fourth win over November, taking the lead 10 minutes before half time as Higdon was felled by Longwell's goalkeeper and picked himself up to score from the penalty.

Sports drew level when Dan Hunt headed home from a corner, but Town regained the lead just before the interval and Shaun Benison and Dan Kovacs combined to allow Higdon to touch the ball home.

Melksham wrapped up the points in the dying moments of the match as Higdon headed home from Will Stead's free kick.

Calne Town claimed a welcome three points at home as they defeated Chard Town 2-1 at Bremhill View.

Simon Gardner's side fell behind as Leigh Bailey stabbed home for the visitors, but the Lilywhites' pressure paid off after the break as Tom Slater scored on 55 minutes from Glenn Armstrong's pass.

Calne's winner came in the latter stages as Aaron Hopins picked up the ball 30 yards out and fired home.

Devizes Town secured an excellent point at home against promotion challengers Cribbs as Neil Clark netted for the home side in a 1-1 draw.

Matty Jenkins' strike ended a run of three straight league defeats for Corsham Town as they edged past Roman Glass St George 1-0 at the Southbank.

In the Hellenic League Supplementary Cup, Wootton Bassett Town eased past Old Woodstock Town winning 3-0 with goals from Jordan Roberts, Sam Collier and Shaun Carter

Shortwood United won 4-0 at Malmesbury Victoria in Hellenic Division One West, with two goals from Sean Lawson and a goal each from Nick Humphreys and Andy Hoskins.

Pewsey Vale romped to victory on the Isle of Wight as they secured a 5-2 win at East Cowes Victoria.

Vale were missing a number of key players, but it mattered little to Lewis Taylor's side as they opened the scoring on 15 minutes as Tom Ballard found the net.

After half time, Ricky Franklin got on the end of Michael Martin's cross to double the advantage and Ballard fired home his second just after the hour mark.

Ryan Bragg's curled shot made it 4-0 to the visitors, before Joe Adams and Blaise Franklin scored for the Vics.

Franklin made the game safe for Vale with his second.
