JOHN Fisher isn’t expecting Oxford City Nomads to present Highworth with three points when the sides meet at Court Place Farm tomorrow.

Nomads have endured a difficult recent run that belies their relatively healthy league position of eighth, although they did manage a surprise 3-0 win at Reading a week and a half ago.

Fisher’s team have only lost once in their last 10 and are right in the running for the Hellenic League Premier Division title, but the manager is not anticipating a straightforward victory this weekend.

“Nomads have had a bad run of late, but it’s going to be hard. You’re not going to win anything if you don’t expect that because nothing’s easy,” said Fisher.

“They’ve beaten one of the top sides but dropped points against teams you wouldn’t expect them to.

“I’d rather be playing them on a Saturday because Oxford City are playing, so they won’t be able to take any of their players.

“The lads are starting to believe (in winning the league) now which is great, I’ve been telling them they can do all season.

“We need Wantage to drop a few more points but we’ve still got to play them yet.”

Highworth will be without unavailable duo Matty Bennett and Kev Tate, but the Elms side have been handed a big boost by the return of midfielder Toby Clark from injury Meanwhile, in Division One West, Fairford are at home to Purton.
