DEVIZES Town stretched their unbeaten run in the Toolstation League First Division to four matches with victory at county rivals Warminster Town last weekend.

Mark Barnes hit a hat-trick for Justin Webster and Darran Walters’ side, with Jack Fisher also on target as Devizes ran out 4-2 winners, despite having defender Gareth Davies sent off.

Meanwhile, Rob Burton and Matt Jenkins found the net as Corsham Town won 2-1 at Portishead Town but Calne Town suffered a 4-2 loss at promotion chasers Barnstaple Town, with James Sharratt and James Darbyshire grabbing the consolation goals.

Mark Robinson took his tally for the season to 13 goals but his brace wasn’t enough to prevent Chippenham Park losing 5-2 to Wells City at Hardenhuish Park.

In the Premier Division, Melksham Town saw their four-match winning run brought to an end as they went down 1-0 at Odd Down.

Pewsey Vale also saw their fine form suffer a hiccup as they tasted defeat for the first time in ten games in the Sydenhams League Division One.

Lewis Taylor’s men, who are just four points behind league leaders Andover Town, went down 1-0 at home to Hythe & Dibden.

Elsewhere, Wootton Bassett Town bowed out of the Wiltshire Senior Cup after they were beaten 3-2 at home by Sydenhams League Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

Visitors Bemerton struck twice to cancel out Levi Cox’s opener before Sam Collier popped up with a last-gasp equaliser to force extra-time but a 115th-minute goal put paid to Bassett’s county cup run.

Malmesbury Victoria came out on the end of a nine-goal thriller in the Hellenic League Challenge Cup as they suffered a 5-4 defeat at North Leigh United.
