MARK Collier branded his Chippenham Town side’s defeat at struggling AFC Totton last night as embarrassing.

The Bluebirds slipped to their second defeat at the hands of the Stags this season, with the Hampshire outfit netting twice through Sam House and Luke Roberts following a temporary second half floodlight failure.

Earlier on, on-loan Swindon Town midfielder Alex Ferguson had cancelled out Alex Moth’s opener but there was little to smile about for Collier as Chippenham crumbled at the Testwood Stadium.

“I was embarrassed by it and I told the players that. It’s a very poor performance and not one that myself or Tom (Jones) are going to accept,” said the Bluebirds boss.

“We’ve reminded the players of their responsibilities to this football club because they fell way below the standard. They get the plaudits when they perform to a level but they’ve dropped way, way below that and it’s given me plenty of food for thought going forward.

“It won’t happen again and I want to apologise to the supporters that came last night because they paid good money to come and watch that – they must be sick as dogs.”
