TROWBRIDGE coach Steve Ojomoh reckons the final scoreline didn’t reflect the battle his side had to fight against his former side to maintain their pursuit of league leaders Wells.

Three tries and a penalty in the opening half all but killed the game off for the home side, who added a further five scores after the interval.

But Ojomoh said: “Although the score says they were on the receiving end, we really had to work for it and it doesn’t show how tough it was.’’

The home side were 17 points up after 20 minutes through a penalty from Lloyd Davis and a try apiece from Tom Weaver and Shane Johnstone, both scores converted by Davis.

The first of two tries from new boy Scott Williams followed, Davis adding the extras.

Walcot replied with a successful 40m penalty from Nick Sheppard to end the first half 24-3 adrift.

The second half started with Trowbridge again in total control and a second try for Williams.

It was not long before James McFarlane rounded the posts to give Davis an easy conversion.

Johnstone bagged his second score with a superb forwards pushover try, only for Sam Edwards to do the same through more forward domination, Davis converting both.

The final score of the game came from a combination of forwards and backs to put Joe Knight in comfortably out wide.
